Subject: Contraband discovered within test group.
Date: 09.30.20
We were performing a routine sweep of the dormitory area yesterday while the subjects were all attending ‘school’ and we came across inventory item #55218 (ruled paper notebook) that had been reported missing/stolen approximately 2 months ago. The perpetrator is evidently subject #8, as it has become some sort of diary. We did not want to alert the subject that this material was found so have replaced it pending further instruction.

Understood, I will handle this one personally and not involve anyone else if possible. Subject #8 will be allowed to continue and we will monitor her progress and emotional state. As requested here are images of all of the entries to date.

Sorry it took so long for this update, #8 changed the hiding place and it took a while to track down without the other techs noticing what I was doing. Here’s this weeks entries.

I don’t even know how you keep track of who they all are doc, there’s too many of them. But anyway as you know there was a bit of a scene last week, the new one… yeah, ok… Cassie? Anyway, she took Sera’s diary and ripped out the pages. It didn’t look malicious, just frustrated. I do agree with the others, she needs to be watched more closely as she has been an increasing problem.
Sera did not even come to us about it, I think she knew that she was not supposed to hide things from us, and she acted as if it was not important to her later when she was questioned, which is potentially more troubling than a reaction might be, as it means she is predicting that an outburst on her part would get her in trouble.

Damn she’s gotten good at hiding things. Took almost a week for us to even notice another pad had gone missing, and another beyond that just to catch her hiding it on camera. As before, I will keep you updated.

Subject: #8’s behavior changes
Date 11.11.20
I regret that I have to inform you there was a conflict between #8 and #198 again. It appears that #8 initiated a contact to #198, most likely related to the theft and destruction of the original journal. #198 was obviously not prepared for someone to try and hold her accountable and lashed out and actually bit #8. While no permanent injury was sustained, it was very disruptive to the group and 198 is being held in isolation yet again.
I am not sure what we should be doing with her. I know you advised a hands off approach to let her acclimate but she seems worse now than she ever has been and the others are ostracizing her. I am attaching the relevant pages from 8’s journal.

Subject: #8’s behavior changes
Date 11.14.20
You may have noticed already that the behavior of 8… sorry, Sera, if you will, has changed some lately. She is more secretive than ever, and has expressed a sudden desire to appear more human. She has taken to tying a cloth around her head in a way that hides her ears, and is calling some of the others who have gnawing or itching habits ‘animals’ and trying to make them stop.
It would appear she is over-reacting to 198’s continued behavioral problems, trying to distance herself as if she could just decide she wanted to be a normal little girl again and it would happen. Also if you read this week’s journal entries, it would seem she is also going through a phase of identity conflict. Hopefully it’s only these older ones, and the rest of them won’t prove to be such problems. You almost have to feel a little bad for them, but at least they’re alive, it’s more than they would have had.

Subject: URGENT: Subject 8 self mutilations
Date 11.16.20
She has been returned from emergency care. The place is still a mess though, and the other subjects are going to need to be told something. She just about skinned herself, god only knows where she found those scissors, but the very idea a little kid could do that to themselves, and keep doing it, I don’t know doc that scares the living shit out of me.
She had to be forcibly restrained, screaming the entire time that she wasn’t done. At least one of the medical and two of the cleaning staff quit, if I had to see that I probably would have too. I take back what I said last time, maybe they would have been better off if we’d just left them.
I found the last entry she’d made, god it’s twisted what someone can come up with…

I understand completely. The journal will be removed and archived. The
risk of developmental abnormality is too great to allow this degree of
self feedback again. No allowance will be made for any subjects
attempting to keep any unsupervised journals.
